This is original Wendy’s copyrighted merchandise, sold in retail stores, that was produced on the heels of the restaurant chain’s wildly successful 1984 advertising campaign. The highlight of the campaign was the television commercial produced by Joe Sedelmaier and starring actress Clara Peller. “Where’s The Beef?” were the immortal words that catapulted Peller into stardom. She made believers of us all, playing the cranky little old lady who demanded to know why she’d been served an undersized burger. Though the commercial ran for just a season, it remains an iconic part of our pop culture. Clara’s rise to fame was short-lived, however, as she passed away in 1987 at the age of 86.
This Wendy’s patch measures 3 inches by 2.5 inches. It is in mint condition and still sealed in its original package. A wonderful, fun collectible!
