LIMOGES FIONA SAUNDERS SHOE GOLD w/ OPEN HEEL is authentic Limoges porcelain hand painted in France. Limited Edition box is shaped like a shoe, marked number 211/300, signed shoe #15, and initialed by the artist. Marked with “Limoges France Peint main” on the bottom is a guarantee of authenticity. From the nineteenth century to the present, the manufacture of porcelain and its creation into limited edition decorative arts remains a dominating industry in the French city of Limoges. In the 1990’s, British artist Saunders designed a collection of Limoges porcelain boxes into ornate women’s shoes. Each shoe is lavishly trimmed, adorned with rhinestones, 22KT gold, feathers, and other eye-catching decorations.

This listing is offered as an exquisite example of Fiona’s collection. Gold with silver paisley is the shoe’s pattern, covered with a silver braid, and five large rhinestones. Marking the inside of the shoe is 22KT gold painted on the top. Other gold accents are seen in back of the heel, at the bottom of the heel, and inside the heel. A hinged double loop clasp on the heel opens a compartment in the heel. Hidden within it is a spare rhinestone. There’s plenty of empty space left for a ring or a few pills.

Limoges Fiona Saunders Shoe Gold w/ Open Heel is a highly collectible vintage porcelain. Measurements are 2 1/2″ H X 4″ L X 1 1/2″ D.  Shoe and the clasp are in excellent condition, with the latter working perfectly.
