Vintage “FACIT” MAN is a rare Advertising Character Doll used by FACIT-ADDO, INC., a Swedish manufacturing company (1921-1972) to market calculators and business machines in America during the 1940s. This is the largest figure of several created to symbolize “WIZARDS” that were displayed in store windows, hanging upside down by a hook on his head. This hard-to-find promotional figure with expressive features is a wonderful example of MID-CENTURY ADVERTISING.
Made of bright yellow hard plastic with vinyl hands and feet, FACIT MAN measures 15 inches tall. His 10″ black cone HAT is MISSING. Marked on the bottom of each foot with, “Made in W. Germany.” His neck, shoulder, wrist, and ankle joints all move easily. Stickers on chest and back are original. FACIT MAN has aged well and is in excellent vintage condition. Only flaw is that some of the black has flaked off from several areas including wrists, labels, and buttons.
